Cool Cop Movies

Beverly Hills Cop
Beverly Hills Cop 2
48 Hours
Another 48 Hours

I really think Eddie Murphy should have stuck it out with the cop movie genre. It's a great disappointment in my life that he didn't.

More Cool Cop or Crime Movies:

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Colors
The Departed (which I just watched for the 3rd time last night and still loved)
Straight Time
Fargo

Jesus, the more I think about it, it seems like every other movie I've ever seen has either been about criminals trying not to get caught, or cops trying to catch criminals. Fuckin' A! Let me continue the list now...I'm gonna stick to movies I personally have enjoyed, trying not to vote just for the critical favorites. I'm going to exclude "prison" or "Prison escape" movies...they're sort of a different genre.

The Naked Gun
The Naked Gun 2 & 1/2
Out of Sight
The Usual Suspects
Cape Fear (the original And the remake)
Donnie Brasco (it's a Fuzazi!)
Super Troopers
Get Shorty
Manhunter/Silence of the Lambs/Red Dragon
Thunder Heart
Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 2
That one where Schwarzenegger is a russian cop and Jim Belushi is the American Cop
Black Rain (awesome Michael Douglas cop movie set in Japan)
Rising Sun (sean connery and wesley snipes, also in japan)
In the Line of Fire (if Secret Service guys count as cops)
U Turn (not many cops, but lots of criminals)
Carlito's Way

Well shit...maybe I haven't seen as many as I thought. I figured I would have seen more, like, murder mysteries, but I can't really think of any at the moment.

oh yeah!

Clue
Blowout (um...maybe this doesn't fit, but it's cool!)
Son of Sam
Training Day

Well, this is all that's coming to mind at the moment. I remember a bunch of crappy ones, but this is supposed to be the good stuff. Feel free to contribute suggestions for cool cop/crime/murder mystery movies in the comments section.

Well, looks like you're going to have to include "No Country For Old Men" to the list now. Even though it did have a sucky ending.
