Thanksgiving is upon us. A time to thanksgive. I will give thanks to anybody who wants it. I've got enough thanks to choke a camel. Want one? just ask. totally free. I'll give you a thanks and your brother a thanks and your mother a thanks and your daddy a thanks. I'll even provide a thanks to your dog!

Gratitude is the poor man's prozac. It's hard to be pissed or sad or angry if you're feeling grateful.

In Joe vs The Volcano, Tom Hanks is adrift at sea and dying of thirst. He's been there for a while. In one scene, he's on his little life raft, and the sea is calm. The moon looks huge on the horizon, and he stands up and stares at it. He says, "Dear God. Thank you for my life."

This is one of the few prayers worth uttering.
