Crime: Bad shit, man.

I consume a lot of fictional stories about crime and law enforcement. This habit probably does nothing to assuage my naturally anxious orientation toward the world. In fact, it makes me suspect half the population of being ingenius serial killers. Very few people are killers. Much fewer are serial killers. Much much fewer are ingenius serial killers. Just keep that in mind, will ya?

Cool crime fiction:

The Wire
The Sopranos
Various Books by Elmore Leonard
The Shield
Red Harvest by Dashell Hammett
Cracker (BBC series with Robbie Coltrane)
Silence of the Lambs
Red Dragon
Various books by Michael Malone (well, at least one of these is pretty good)
Various Books by Tony Hillerman (the Leaphorn and Chee books. I'm an absolute sucker for these things).
Deadwood (ok, so this isn't exactly about crime. it sorta kinda is, though).

I just watched the first two episodes of an old BBC mystery cop show called Touching Evil. It's not bad.

Next time, maybe I'll discuss some cool cop movies.

No Country for Old Men. Great movie, but an even better novel. Just fyi.

Bigfoot's Alibi: How could I have raped her? You don't think I even fucking exist!
