jobs, etc

Not much going on. I've decided to look for a new job. I have this feeling that I need to start being a grownup. Grownups have jobs. They have incomes and spouses and children and mortgages, and they sit on boards and volunteer and go to shows and whatnot. I don't do any of that. I do have my fellow grad students, who are kind of in the same boat, so at least I'm not totally alone in this regard.

Some folks have told me that they think I'd hate a regular job (you know, 9 hours/day, 5 days/week, 2 weeks vacation, weekends and holidays off, etc). It's definitely possible that I would. But maybe I wouldn't, you know? There are definitely trade-offs. I may have underestimated the costs of this job. Being a grad student is a weird, weird life.
