The Feral and the Tame

You know, if you see a dog roaming the streets, maybe he's gonna be a little freaked out if you come over to pet him. And maybe he's gonna stiffen up and bark a little, maybe run away when you walk toward him, maybe even growl a little bit. But, you know, watch what happens when you turn around to walk away...he might start following you. He probably wants to come inside, but he's been out on the street so long, fending for himself and eating trash, that he just doesn't exactly know what to do. Be patient with him. He might be a good dog. He might just need a little time to get used to being inside, holding his pee and poop until it's walk time, eating out of a bowl, and generally having an owner who is nice and wants to pet him and love him and be nice to him. But he'll get there.

This isn't an allegory about disadvantaged children is it?

If so I like your style!
