New Job!
I got the job! Salary, benefits, beeper, that's the way we keep her.
You can call me landlord. For at least the next two years, I am the manager of two low-income, 55 and older aparment complexes. I will breath paperwork and piss maintenance requests. I will monitor pet behavior, and I will enforce no-smoking policies. I will be LAND LORD!
This job will be an interesting hybrid. Technically speaking, it's a for-profit corporation that was set up by my nonprofit. I still don't really know why they did that, but apparently it was necessary. But that for-profit pays the nonprofit to manage the properties, so I will technically work for the nonprofit. There are tax credits, section 8, and armies of government auditors to navigate. So, I'll have fingers in the public, private, and voluntary sectors.
High stress, low pay, but a lot of good experience and learning (at least I hope so). I hope I don't suck at it.
