public bathroom paradox

Consider this:

Few would consider a public bathroom to be the "ideal" place to urinate or defecate. Therefore, people probably don't use them until they really, really need to go. Such as, for instance, when they have runs.

That is why public bathrooms are always so damn gross!

Which sucks, cause when you really, really have to go, that's when you want something pristine, isn't it?
