Oh shit...being a grownup again
First day of PhD orientation was pretty damn overwhelming. I'm kind of wondering what the hell I've gotten myself into. I hope this was a good decision to come here.
It turns out, a PhD is pretty hard work.
I'll give it a year. We'll see how I feel about it then.

Don't worry. It was just the start. They're just trying to scare you to death. You're highly qualified and you'll do very well!
Use of book is allow for yes and no test. You think that hard work?
Just curious, Joe, since I've still toying with the idea of a PhD if the whole job thing doesn't come through, exactly what part of the PhD program seems the most overwhelming in comparison with the MPA?
Is it the whole you-have-to-actually-know-what-you're-talking-about part ('cause there wasn't a whole hell of a lot of that going on around the MPA program)? Or is there some secret nastiness that they hide from you until you walk in the first day?
