Amped for Indiana's Day in the Sun!

I'm getting pumped for the primary on Tuesday. It's going to be an exciting evening. I don't really know what Hilary will do if she loses Indiana. Some pundits think she'll pull out, and some think she'll drag it out till the convention.

The Indiana primaries will be interesting too. I'm ashamed that I haven't followed those as closely as I should have, as the race for Governor is pretty close. I'm supporting Jill Long Thompson, but I don't have a great reason, other than the fact that my friend has been working for her campaign. I'm supporting Baron Hill, my old boss, for the 9th District seat. Baron's a little more to the right than I am on some issues, and he's fairly beholden to the farmers in southern Indiana regarding biofuels and ag subsidies, but he's a pretty cool guy, and I think he's the only one on the ticket who has a chance of beating Sodrel. And yes, it's going to be Hill/Sodrel 4. Christ, can't we get somebody new? Sodrel really is a giant choad.

On the local races, since I had the advantage of voting absentee, I was able to look up the candidates' bios online. That was really nice. It allowed me to vote without feeling like a bad citizen.

I've been meaning to say, I'm delightedly shocked that we have 3 candidates for President who are quality human beings. Though I strongly disagree with McCain's economic policies, I strongly support his campaign finance reform efforts. And I think he's generally an honorable person with a lot of character. I think Hilary is a very smart woman who will pursue policies that I will generally support. And I think Obama is pretty much the second coming.

I've heard talk that both Obama and McCain might accept public financing for their campaigns. If that happens, I'm pretty much going to explode with pride for this place.

I cannot overemphasize how much I hate George Bush. I hate his policies (well, except for increasing foreign aid to Africa), and I hate his arrogance and willful anti-intellectualism. I hate his pandering and disingenuous image crafting.

Regardless of who wins the Presidency, I'm going to celebrate, because a person of substance and character will be replacing this slimey jerkoff.

You really think Hillary's a quality human being?

Um...well...let me put it this way. I think she'd be a good president.

I admire the fact that she stayed in public life after her husband very publicly cheated on her multiple times. My impulse would have been to run and hide forever, or to leave the bastard. I give her credit for retaining some dignity and grace during that fiasco. I also like her daughter, so I'll giver her some credit for raising a good daughter.

I don't think I'd particularly enjoy hanging out with her, though.

So competent but evil? Do we want another Nixon?

Your redneck state don't like Obama (not enough anyway).
