Foot Knife

Gonna be interesting to watch the Senate race in Indiana. Ellsworth has thrown his name in the hat, and I suspect the party will go along with that. He's a 2nd term rep from southern Indiana, who before that was a sheriff for a long while. He's a pretty conservative dem, and he's pretty green to be trying for something on this stage, but that'll hopefully make it interesting to watch.

Some folks have speculated that Bayh wants to take a run at the Presidency, and that seems fairly plausible to me. I really don't think he would have lost if he had run again, so something is definitely odd about the whole situation. Who knows...maybe he's actually being sincere about being sick of Congress!! Whatever his long term plans, in the mean time, he's using his brief spotlight to call for some procedural reforms in the senate, which is nice to see. I'll be pissed if the dems end up losing that seat, and there's a very good chance that'll happen, but if he helps pass through some reforms before he leaves, I'll take it.

Unrelatedly...curling is awesome. I fucking love watching curling, and I have no idea why. Also, speed skating is cool because people have knives on their feet.
