feeding the bleast

oh life, it's bigger, it's bigger than you , and you are not me. Truer words were never spoken.

I'm headed for the campaign trail, folks. Duking it out with the republicans and their sith master, Darth Douchebag. It is this type of demonization and oversimplification that I have to look forward to during the summer. It sort of goes against the naturally moderate, skeptical, fair-minded character of my personality. That isn't a joke. I realize that it may sound like an ironic overstatement, but it's true. We'll see how well I can stomach this stuff. I already don't like the clubbiness of it, or the winds of dogmatism that seem to prevail. At the very least, it'll convince me that I don't want to do it.

I've vowed to keep my romantic life off the blog, but suffice it to say, it's a big deal to me, and the trend lines seem to be moving in a generally positive direction.

I just finished the first season of 24. OOOO....I'm steamed at someone...I can't say who, because it would spoil the plot, but that someone is a real turd. I hope Jack gets to beat that person up later in the show (if, in fact, Jack survives).

I wish I were brimming with deep thoughts about public ethics, metaphysics, the meaning of life, or something like that, but I'm pretty much drawing a blank. I played Tennis the other day, and it was nice. My friend pointed out how cool it would be if our lives had soundtracks, and how spooky it would be if scary movie music started to play. I thought that it would be pretty good, cause you could get yourself ready either for a disaster or for a cat to jump out and hiss at you. I figured my soundtrack would just be a series of "wacky" sound effects...slide whistles, cymbal clashes, lots of "whah whahs," like when somebody gets hit in the face with a pie on HeeHaw or something. Occasionally it might break into circus music or Baby Elephant Walk.
